Am I the Only One?

Well, I tried to post this three times last night but Blogger did not agree it was time. I'll give a go one more time.

Am I the only one who has not read the Twilight series? Or even worse, has absolutely no interest in them? None at all. I feel somewhat left out of all the talk but I could care less. I love to read as well so this is somewhat unusual for me.

I am, however, reading an absolutely hilarious book right now, Such a Pretty Fat. This is Jen Lancaster's third memoir and I find myself laughing out loud when reading any of her books. She's freaking hilarious. I definitely identify with her, although I'm not sure I should admit that in public! Seriously put her books on your Christmas list, you won't be disappointed, unless you have no sense of humor. And then I just don't want to know you anyways.

I read Twilight, but I do watch True Blood (in no way related, except in subject manner) and I am tempted to start reading the books that show is based off of... but oddly, I still have no interest in twilight. Thanks for the other book rec though, I will check it out!

Stephanie-

You will totally love the other books because she lives in Chicago and the city figures prominently in them. It always make me want to dart up there.

haha! the comment you left on my blog made ME laugh out loud :) sorry that it was a pain-in-the-ass situation though.

and actually, i am TOTALLY right there with you, in that i have zero interest in twilight. i've never tried to get into it, and i don't feel like i'm missing out.
and i will definitely have to scope out the author you recommended! i've never heard of her and i love getting new ideas for books or writers, so thanks :)

Thanks for the comment on my blog. I had no idea I was famous. How exciting.

I only started Twilight because I had a great Borders coupon and nothing else caught my eye. Sheesh, they are addictive. Not sure why. It's not the character development or plot intricacies. I can't figure it out.

Oh and have you read David Sedaris? Also very funny.

And thanks for letting me know about that author, I'll have to check her out.

Yep. No interest in Twilight. BUT, if you wanna lend me Such a Pretty Fat when you're done, I'm in :) Sounds right up my alley.

Yes! I love David Sedaris. I have read almost all of his books, he's pretty freaking brilliant.

ME TOO! I haven't read them and really have no desire to either!

I DO however, want to read those three books by that author that you posted. They sound SO funny! :)

I read the first one & hate it. This series is really bad and the obsession makes me sad for the women of America. I could go on about why...but I will spare you for now :) I read Jen Lancaster's first book but my library doesn't have the other ones...yet. They (and Sedaris) are worth much more of your time anyway.

I just can't get into Twilight either. I have a bunch of Real Simple magazines and 2 books to get through before I can even think about another book. :-)

I have no interest in starting reading those books either...

They just don't appeal to me...

I am happy you joined the blogosphere!

I said the same thing "no interest in a vampire love story. It's been done. Hello Anne Rice anyone?" but then a co-worker forced it on me and I figured, what the hell, I'll read a couple of chapters and if I can't get into it, no harm no foul. Well, I loved it and finished faster than I've ever finsihed another book of that length. I say, don't knock it till you try it :)
